Happy Birthday to Mark

Happy Birthday Mark! Mark has hit yet another milestone birthday --60! Congratulations! I called friends and family to hook up for an afternoon on Saturday -- Deb had NOTHING to do with it, believe me. We had a surprise party for him, and after he was finished being just a little mad, I think he loved it :) We all had a great time, it's fun celebrating with friends and family. So, happy birthday Mark, and many more!! Here are just a few picks of Mark and Deb, and most beautiful grandchildren Max and Liz. Max is a HOOT! I just can't get enough of either of those kids..... they are so great. Hopefully I'll have a blog soon to share with Liz. Ummmm, it's about an ear and that's about all I can share with you at this point :)

Here are the rest of the pics from the fun day:

Another GREAT Christmas Celebration

Kate and Jerry invited the family to their home to celebrate Christmas. It was great -- great to see the Frohlich's, Hougen's and most of the Rahrich's. Chris spent the day working, so we didn't have a chance to see her. The day was fun -- good food, drinks and Family. We even did some celebrating with Jerry's Mom, Donna and family and Allen - via his webcam. Pretty neat!

I am looking through all of the wonderful pictures from the day, which is shared with you:

But, I thought the best was this one..... The Aunt's challenged our nieces and nephews to game of 'Outburst'..... I don't even remember who won, if anyone..... but, none of us 'Aunts' could read the cards -- ummmm, due to poor lighting I think. Mary was kind enough to hold a flashlight for each of us while we donned our reading glasses. !! Too funny. Getting older is great :)

Happy Holidays!

Christmas is for Kids

We celebrated our Christmas with Aaron and Allison - what a fun evening! Here are just a few pics - Allison showing a favorite gift, Ryan with his best smile and the newest member of the Family, Ike. Ike is John and Sandy (Aaron & Allison's step Dad and Mom) grandson. He is a sweetie, and we really enjoyed meeting him and spending time with all of them. Who was here: Allison, Chuck, (we missed Matt), Aaron, Jamie, Ryan, John, Sandy, Ike and Us. Great Evening!
Merry Christmas!!

An old tradition - Georgetown

This year we attempted to rebuild an old tradition, so we headed up to Georgetown for their annual Christmas festival. It was a fun day with Steve and Julie, however, the festival has lost some of it's jazz. I'm not really sure if it's because I don't have a lot to shop for anymore (decorations, festive stuff), or if the festival itself has down sized. Regardless, the day was great, the weather was great, we had chestnuts roasted on an open fire, stood around the campfire - and it's the holiday season - so we had a good time! Happy Holidays!

We visited Aruba

Amazing little island! I will post all of the pictures, although they don't do justice. The island is so beautiful, small - we were able to tour the island in a day -- actually less than. I think it was more fun for me than Bob, as he was driving. Ummm, foreign Country, can't read the signs..... oh, and, there are no street names in Aruba. Makes it difficult to read a map!! Bob did great job and we had a great day of adventure. The rest of the time was spent sunning, eating - oh, and, maybe a small bit of drinking. Speaking of eating.... here is the first pic I will share. When we first arrived, we unpacked and checked out the area. Stopped for a sunny drink. The place we stopped served a free snack. Take a look..... breaded, deep-fried MINNOWS. I ate some :) When in Aruba, do as the Arubans. Made Bob sick to his stomach!!!

Memorial Bridge

An icon of my childhood has been removed. It's kind of sad, but, time moves on. The Memorial Bridge -- old, scary bridge that brought Bismarck and Mandan together, separated by the Missouri river. I say scary, because it was constructed steel - no pavement, so as you drove over the bridge you could see straight down into the water. Well, as a child that was scary. As an adult driving over it, it was old, narrow and many car crashes that I remember. Anyway, the bridge was demolished and recently when I was up visiting Dad, Cindy, Sara and Tom - Cindy drove us over the new bridge. Bridges have always amazed me - the engineering..... how do you build a bridge? Amazing.

Oh, and....

Aaron and Ryan are spending the afternoon and dinner with us today, so look for pictures to come of our cute boys!

How Nice :)

I came home from work on Friday and find these beautiful flowers and this card from, as Bob puts it, YSH :) That stands for: Your Sweet Husband! Sweet huh, well -- he is :) I don't know what more to say, as I'm sure all of you gals out there know how sweet it is to come home and have flowers from your favorite person waiting for you! Thanks Honey - I love you too.

What a GREAT Day!

When Henry and Ellenora are in town, it's a reason to celebrate!!

Bob and I drove up to Windsor yesterday. Kristi's Mom, Ellenora and her husband Henry were stopping through on their way back home to Lake Havasu City. It's been a while since we've seen them, and they are such good people and a great reason to spend time with the Greenfield's. To top off the occasion, we had lunch at Bruce's in Severence. For those of you not familiar, they are famous for their Rocky Mtn. Oysters. YUM. The owner of the restaurant passed away last year and it closed, but recently opened under new ownership - but, they kept the place as much the same as possible. It was packed yesterday for lunch, and it was good! Nice to have it back!!!

The girls in the photo are Kristi, Dee, Myself, Ellenora and Cindy. Great group!

They've seen better days......

Bob had to part with his Bronco Shorts!! It's worth blogging about, since he's had them for over 20 years - and if you've watched a Bronco game with him, you've seen the shorts!! Now, I'm not saying that they were nice by any means.... one leg blue, one leg orange. I don't even know where he got them. Regardless, they are a thing of the past. But still.... Go Broncos!!

Day in the Mountains

Bob and I truly love the Mountains -- in Summer and Fall. We spent a few days in Vail recently, had some great hikes and just great time. The weather was awesome and the leaves were just starting to change, it was so beautiful.

Well, on one of our hikes just above Vail, we were hiking the 'Berry Picker' path. It would take you into heavy wooded areas, then out in the valley.... we were walking along the path and noticing fresh 'waste' along the path. We were just about to get into a heavily wooded area..... Bob says - I'm no expert, but maybe we want to turn around? Yep, not wanting to run into a bear or whatever was leaving the waste, we turned back. On the way back we found a more open path and decided to try that route. This path took us by some small waterfalls, which left some muddy patches. This was not a problem - until we saw some fresh, large paw prints from some type of cat (mountain lion). So, this time we decided just to head back to Vail and have a beer. We mentioned our adventure to the bar tender, and she said that for sure there have been recent sightings of both mountain lion and bears in the neighborhoods. I'm glad we took the safe route!!

Jed and Kelly's Wedding

Well, better late then never, right?

Bob and I attended Jed and Kelly Davis's wedding in Temecula, CA. It was beautiful, and a very fun weekend. We arrived on Thursday, met up with the Davis clan for dinner. On Friday the boys golfed and all of the gals went on a wine tasting tour. Thanks to Lisa, we went by Limo - what fun! Saturday was the wedding - again, very beautiful. Kelly is a beauty, and ofcourse Jed is a doll. Here are the wedding pictures.... http://picasaweb.google.com/Donna.Loves.Bob/2008DavisWedding#

Bismarck Visit

I had such a great time with Sara, Tom and Cindy! I didn't take too many pictures, but, here are some good ones. We played cards, drank some beers and wine, did some gambling.... A&B Pizza, Cinsia's potato salad, Tom's hamburgers..... YUM. What a great time!

Visit with Dad

I finally got up to ND for a great visit with my Dad and Sister. What a great time! I miss them lots and wished they lived closer. Dad is doing great, but I'm thinking that I have to start visiting him more often. He no longer travels, so it's up to me to get up there to see him. He looks great, doesn't he? He's 91 :)

Happy 4th of July

Bob decided to break out the smoker and smoke some ribs for the 4th of July. These are the only pictures I took, Bob preparing the ribs the night before. Oh, and they were yummy! We had a small crowd over this year, David and Kyleah drove up, and Ken and Dari Burgess came over for a fun day of laughing, drinking and ofcourse, eating! Our deck conveniently sits at a perfect spot to watch the fireworks so that was a beautiful end to a great day. And now, we've got plenty of ribs to freeze and Donna enjoys them while Bob is at the lake!

Happy 4th!

Final Day

Well, Bob and I ended up with a free weekend, so off we go to the very last day at the dog tracks. It was so busy..... I stood in line for 30+ minutes for a beer! It was crazy, but we decided to just hang with it for a while.... I'm glad we did! Bob made a 10cent Superfecta bet (cost us $2.40).... We ended up winning $330 !!! It was a nice end to a crazy day. One more note.... below are pics from last weekend when we were at the dogs. My friend the Security man... this has been his ONLY job -- he told me that he's worked there for 60 years! Imagine that! I asked what he will do now -- he said he's going to take some time off.

Good bye to the dogs.

Dog Gone It

Our Dog Track is closing! I can't believe it..... Bob and I have been frequenting the dog tracks for YEARS. It was just an easy way to have a fun afternoon, drink a few beers, meet up with the Greenfields and hopefully win a few dollars. Winning the few dollars was few and far between, but we didn't invest much either. We're sad to see it close, wish they could have at least lasted through the summer. Oh well, we'll just have to find ourselves a new way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

Here are a few pictures.... the Entrance, Bob enjoying a beer in the sun,the dogs running, and my favorite Security guy, we were buddies. Yep, we felt safe with him protecting us :)

Grandparents Greenfield

Congratulations to Gary and Kristi -- they are the proud new Grandparents of Conner Greenfield -- isn't he cute? He is currently growing up in Texas, which is a nice place to grow up but a bit far from Colorado. My bet is Gary and Kristi will be making lots of trips down there! What a dolly! Congrats and love him lots :)
