Welcome Jolene to our Family

I stole these off of Karen's blog... what a sweetheart! Karen and Luke welcomed their beautiful daughter into our family. Here are some pictures, and we will get to see her in person over the Labor Day weekend. Looking forward to seeing Luke, Karen, Emmett and Jolene. Isn't she pretty, and her big brother couldn't be cuter :)

Beautiful Flowers

Last weekend, Bob went to the grocery store - as he always does. I don't think I've been in a grocery store in ages, lucky me. Anyway, I wasn't feeling all that well that day and Bob came home with some beautiful sunflowers for me to vase. I thought, self, you have such beautiful flowers in your back yard, you should make a nice arrangement. So I did. So beautiful... Thanks Bob :)

Summer 2009

We took our annual trip up to ND over the 4th of July this year. Had a blast, and it was so nice to see Dad, Cindy, Sara and Tom. It's always good to see them, I'm always missing them. Why don't we all live the same City so that I don't have to miss you!!! So, here are some pics:

Last, a barbecue at Cindy's house! We had some fun, drank some wine, fantastic food - Bob's famous burgers, Cindy's famous potato salad, Sara's now famous shrimp salad. Ummm, Donna's famous wine???? I didn't cook anything :)

Earth Day

I know it's not Earth Day, that was a few weeks ago, but, on Earth Day we were all given pine trees from Davita to plant in honor of the day. Bob and I really don't have a place at our home for a large pine, so, Bob took it down to the Lake! Here are some pics -- I don't think the tree could as for a better home :)

Congratulations to Sam!

Happy Graduation Day, Sam!! I was proud to be able to attend the last of the Hougen's high school graduation. Congratulations Sam -- I remember my high school graduation day like it was yesterday. Sam was born just 3 days before my birthday, so I always told him that we were almost twins, just 30 years apart. And, if that's the case, even though my HS graduation seems like yesterday, hmmmm, it must have been about 30 years ago - WOW!

What an exciting time for so many graduates! Make life good, make good choices. If you stumble along the way, take some time then get up, shake it off and keep going. GOOD LUCK!

Girl's Only !

A few of us gals met up and saw the play 'Girl's Only'. What a GREAT day! If you haven't seen the play, make it point -- cliche`, but -- truly, Laugh out Loud :)

New Flooring in our Home

We are a bit upsidedown in our home currently, but it should be worth it!! We are having hardwood flooring in our bedrooms, and with most of the other rooms already hardwood or tile, we will be down to just 1 room with carpet. The beloved family room. Although, as you will see right now it is our bedroom!! We moved our box spring/mattress down to the family room while the work is being done. This was needed since we do not have a big house by any means. So, anyway, enjoy the mess with us! Also, you know me............ under the hardwoods in our bedroom where we each stand each morning,................. 'Donna Loves Bob' is written on the sub-flooring under the hardwood. It will always be there :)
